Mom’s Celebration of Life
We held mom’s celebration of life today. The turnout was incredible. Everything came together just in time. We had a slideshow playing on the tv. Faud had music playing on a big speaker. The kids spent the day on the bounce house Joe set up. Matt made his chicken and sausage gumbo that mom loved. That was the only dish that was all gone before the end. We had dirty rice, potato soup, finger sandwiches, sushi, charcuterie board, pinwheels, and desserts. At the end we gathered outside, some people said a few words, and we did a balloon release.

RIP Mom 💔
Jeannie Mable Jean Asher
1946 - 2025
Jeannie Mable Jean Asher, 79, of Arabi, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Born March 8, 1946 in Pineville, KY, Jeannie was a woman of deep kindness and quiet strength. She saw beauty everywhere and had a gift for making everyone around her feel seen and loved. With her beautiful green eyes, warm smile, ready compliment, and signature white outfits paired with bright red lipstick, she left a lasting mark on countless hearts.
Jeannie cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her devoted children: F. Ray Whitfield (Shannon), Angel Flannery (Joseph), Tammy Philibert (Cliff), Annette Gioia Burch (Damian), Agnes Gonzales (Brian), and Allen Ballard (Debbie); nineteen grandchildren: Brittanie (Scott), Matthew (Britney), Destiny (Jacob), Taylor (Matt), Cade, Shelby, Aidan, Evan, Phoebe, Bradley (Rhiannon), Blake (Emma), Bill, James, Josh, Adrian, Brandie, Casi, Abigail, and Cole; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Madelynn, Jaxson, Nolen, Eli, Liam, Charlotte, Ashton, Dominik, Carter, Kamdin, Naomi, Leilani, and Brenley. She also leaves behind her brothers Arthur (Gail) and Joe, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wilk Asher and Viola Brummette Brock; her beloved daughter, Viola Michelle Reynolds; and several dear siblings and extended family members.
Jeannie found joy in the simple things—tending her garden, singing "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus" at karaoke, shopping for the perfect outfit, and, most of all, being surrounded by the laughter and love of her big, beautiful family. She was the kind of woman who would give you her last dollar or the shirt off her back and go without so no one else had to. A gentle, generous soul—beautiful inside and out—she was everything and more to so many. Her family feels lost without her guiding light.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 305 Midway Drive, River Ridge, LA 70123. In honor of Jeannie's vibrant spirit and signature style, the family kindly requests that guests wear white.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests simply telling someone you love them—something Jeannie did every single day.
Lagniappe:
Those who knew Jeannie will never forget her striking green eyes—eyes that needed no words to speak. A single glance could scold, tease, comfort, or envelop you in love. With one look she could say everything, and somehow you always understood.
To her children and grandchildren she was simply everything. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, giving all of herself every single day. She shaped their hearts, their character, and their lives in ways no words can fully capture. They are who they are because of her. Her spirit, her strength, and her boundless love live on in each of them. They carry her forward with pride and gratitude, determined to honor the extraordinary mother and grandmother she was and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Jeannie loved all animals and mourned her fur babies she lost over the years - Shadow and Nila. I'm sure she is receiving plenty puppy kisses now that they are reunited in heaven.

Phoebe's Footloose Musical performance
I was flying in to Harrisburg, PA to see Phoebe in the Footloose Musical at Penn State Harrisburg. My flight was scheduled to depart at 9:30am and arrive in Harrisburg at 4:57pm. The performance was set to begin at 7:30pm. I had plans to attend opening night on Wednesday and again on Thursday, then fly home first thing Friday morning. I left the house at 7am and received flight delay notifications from United so I turned around and went home. Left for the airport around 8am. I got there and the flight was delayed again. We finally make it to Chicago for the connection to then find out that flight was cancelled and they put me on another flight arriving at 10:30pm. After several more delays, we ended up departing at 11pm. The captain said there was a storm system between Chicago and Harrisburg, but he'd get us as far as he could, even if it meant we'd have to go around the system, up to NY and then come back down to PA. I sent out "I love you" texts to Damian and Phoebe, just in case anything happened. The flight actually wasn't bad, we were able to get through the storm and arrive in Harrisburg at 2:30am. Needless to say, I missed opening night. But I knew I'd be able to see it Thursday night. Phoebe invited me to lunch with her between her classes. We had lunch at a mexican restaurant and took our time catching up on life. I dropped her off at school and went back to the hotel to get a little work done and get ready for the show. I got there around 6:45, got my ticket and waited for them to open the doors. They were having some technical issues, so there was a delay letting us in. We were able to go in and get seated around 7:30, that's when the show was scheduled to start. Around 8:30 the theater manager announced that they'd have to call the show. They weren't able to resolve the technical issues. My eyes swelled up with tears but I held them in. I was so excited to see Phoebe on stage, doing what she loves. Phoebe eventually came out and ran up to me and we hugged so tight. She was crying and said "I just wanted to make you proud". I said oh my gosh boog, you make me proud every single day. I just really wanted to see you out there. This is beyond your control. She told me that the crew were going to IHOP and I insisted that she go with them and don't worry about me! They were who she needed to be with at the time and I was not going to be selfish. I hung back and spoke with the manager, Amy. She was so sweet and understanding. I told her what I went through to be there and asked if there was any way that someone could record it and share it with me. She explained that they didn't purchase a license to video it. I said I completely understand, but if there's any way that they could share it, I would be extremely grateful. I mentioned that I would reschedule my return flight and stay another night if she had a strong feeling it would be resolved, but she couldn't say for sure. And the only return flight that I was able to switch to would bring me home Sunday, but still, there was no way to know if it would be fixed.
The return flights were on time, no delays. I got back to Houston around 11am. Phoebe texted me links that evening to watch the live streams. THANK YOU PENN STATE THEATER!! I was able to watch my girl on stage. She was amazing as always.
Meagan flew in on Friday while I was flying home. She surprised Phoebe. They have such a wonderful friendship. LaQuinta wouldn't let Meagan check in and still charged her for the stay. They said she'd have to be 21 to check in, so she called Comfort Inn & Suites and they said a 19 year old could check in, so she went to stay there instead.
Footloose The Musical was a great experience for Phoebe. The cast cried as they were closing up the last showing. I'm thankful that she's having these experiences, and I'm thankful that she has a handful of real friends in her life.

David Levron Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2025.
David Joseph Levron, 76, passed away on February 26, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Born on April 11, 1948, in Pittsburg, California, David lived a life filled with passion, faith, and adventure. A proud Marine, he carried the discipline and strength of his service throughout his life. His deep faith was a guiding force, and he found great joy in studying the Bible and expanding his knowledge on topics that intrigued him.
David had an undeniable love for speed and power-whether behind the wheel of a fast car or astride his beloved Harley Davidson. The roar of an engine was music to his ears, and he never missed an opportunity to leave his mark-sometimes quite literally-with a trail of rubber on the pavement. He also enjoyed a good game of pool and could often be found unwinding with a glass of peach schnapps in hand.
Family was at the heart of David's world. He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Jeannie Asher; his children: F. Ray Whitfield and wife Shannon; Angel Flannery and husband Joseph; Tammy Philibert and significant other Cliff ; Annette Gioia-Burch and husband Damian; Agnes Gonzales and husband Brian; and Ezekiel Miller. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren-Brittanie, Matthew (Britney), Destiny (Jacob), Taylor, Cade, Shelby, Aidan, Evan, and Phoebe-as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Madelynn, Jaxson, Nolen, Eli, Liam, Charlotte, Ashton, Dominik, Carter, Kamdin, Naomi, and Leilani. His siblings EJ and Denise mourn his passing alongside many other family members and friends. He also shared a special bond with his girlfriend Sarah Martin.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth Jolivette Levron; his parents Ernest Joseph Levron and Agnes Velma Rogers Levron; as well as numerous brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who went before him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 305 Midway Drive in River Ridge, Louisiana.
David's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him-his laughter echoing like the rumble of a Harley down an open road. His blue eyes, kind smile, warm heart and wisdom will forever be cherished by those he loved.
P.S.
Dear Daddy,
