They had a ramp up day last week so students could learn their way to class and lunch and all. But today was the official first day of in person learning. She woke herself up at 5am, got ready and headed to the bus stop with Maya. This is Phoebe walking home from the bus stop. 😜 She’s all grown up y’all! 🥺 She had a good day! 🙌🏻

We learned to shoot today.
Me, Damian, Maya, Eliana and Phoebe went to a shooting range today. We had a private instructor that gave us an hour class on safety, stance, proper way to hold a pistol and how to load and unload. Then we went shooting. One gun was a .22 single action revolver and the other was a glock .22 semi automatic pistol. (Hope I didn’t butcher that! 😆) Everyone really enjoyed it.
More shooting practice!
Today we shot a .22 and a .45 at the range. It was just me, Phoebe and Damian, so we shot much more. We went through almost 150 bullets in an hour. Phoebe chose not to shoot the .45 after she saw the kickback it had. :)

Mother’s Day
It was a lovely Mother’s Day. I had a great conversation with my mom. Damian and I went to Missouri City to have lunch with his parents. It was our first time seeing them since the whole COVID thing started. We had a great lunch! Grilled lemon chicken with veggies and diced potatoes, fresh watermelon and strawberries. It was so delicious! Then Damian dropped me off at home and Phoebe presented the card she made for me. 💕

Ready for All-Stars!
Each year that Phoebe was in an activity, except last year, we had a statuette made. Out of all the activities, her heart and spirit have always been in Cheer and Gymnastics. She’s going to try out for a higher level All-Star team this coming season. We received a call today that the gym will reopen soon and she was so happy to hear it! 💕 They’re not certain about the competition schedule yet since everything is still a bit chaotic, but she’s still happy. This momma is a bit nervous about the competition schedule since I have a demanding full time job, but I’m confident that we’ll find a way to make it work since it means so much to her.

Happy Easter! Wait... it doesn't feel like Easter...
So not only is this the first year that the Easter Bunny wasn't delivering a basket to Phoebe (since she no longer believes), but it took a turn where the stores had nothing for me to make her a basket myself. I did end up finding a few of her favorites though! And yes, she was excited about the ramen, it's been super hard to find during this COVID-19 pandemic!
She stayed up all night last night playing games and watching "The Fosters". Me and Damian got up at 7:30 and she was awake, again, lol. She's been a night owl with not having school the past few weeks. I guess it's better for her to sleep during the day while I work, instead of sitting around bored and me feeling guilty! Lol. I did set up a 750 piece puzzle for us to put together, but she got bored after the first 20 minutes and now it is my puzzle. :)
Here's a pic of her Easter goodies.
And some pictures of this beauty....

Coronavirus Facts
The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells.
* Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
* The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much: for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam).
By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.
* HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 25 degrees Celsius for washing hands, clothes and everything. In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.
* Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
* Any mix with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, breaks it down from the inside.
* Oxygenated water helps long after soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein, but you have to use it pure and it hurts your skin.
* NO BACTERICIDE OR ANTIBIOTIC SERVES. The virus is not a living organism like bacteria; antibodies cannot kill what is not alive.
* NEVER shake used or unused clothing, sheets or cloth. While it is glued to a porous surface, it is very inert and disintegrates only
-between 3 hours (fabric and porous),
-4 hours (copper and wood)
-24 hours (cardboard),
- 42 hours (metal) and
-72 hours (plastic).
But if you shake it or use a feather duster, the virus molecules float in the air for up to 3 hours, and can lodge in your nose.
* The virus molecules remain very stable in external cold, or artificial as air conditioners in houses and cars.
They also need moisture to stay stable, and especially darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.
* UV LIGHT on any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein. For example, to disinfect and reuse a mask is perfect. Be careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin.
* The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.
* Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
* NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serve. The strongest vodka is 40% alcohol, and you need 65%.
* LISTERINE IF IT SERVES! It is 65% alcohol.
* The more confined the space, the more concentration of the virus there can be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.
* You have to wash your hands before and after touching mucosa, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc. And when using the bathroom.
* You have to HUMIDIFY HANDS DRY from so much washing them, because the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.
* Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.

Dance competition
My poor boog is still asleep. Her day began at 6am yesterday, she got to the dance competition at 8am and got home at 1am. 😔 I must say that cheer competitions are much better organized for awards. Well let me not speak too soon, we have the big cheer competition (NCA) in Dallas next weekend. This momma is tired, so I can only imagine how Phoe is feeling! But she is already talking about what she’ll do after competition season. Rest child, rest!! 😆

Happy Birthday to me. ❤️
Damian came over to see me Sunday morning before I got on the road to meet up with Mikey to get Phoebe. He brought me 3 gifts for my birthday.
1) A pair of socks that read “if you can read this, rub my feet”. (he is constantly rubbing my back, legs and feet)
2) A box of the same English toffee that we had in CA. (It is handmade in Carmel, CA, where we visited. He managed to get a box of them for my bday). 💕
3) A handwritten letter with floor plans for his house. We are talking about moving in together. He wants me to feel like it is OUR house, so he measured the downstairs and created a floor plan using a program he wrote. Then went on to try to explain to me how he had to write code for one of the images since it was so small. 🤷♀️🙃🥰
I am absolutely speechless. The thought that went into these gifts, that’s what melts my heart.
I picked Phoebe up from Mikey and she had this handmade gift for me. I absolutely LOVE them!
Then I get to work this morning and I have gifts on my desk. Best team ever!
I’m attaching pictures but I did mark out some text from the letter that wasn’t “share appropriate”. 😉

Getting it done son! ✅
Went to the DMV today, around 12:30 and I was done by 1:50! They have a system in place now and it made things run pretty smoothly. To top it off the employees were nice, the guy even let me look at mt picture and try the vision test without my glasses! (I couldn’t see though, but the option was nice lol!)
And my car is acting up again, took it to Honda since they replaced the battery last May. Thankfully I bought the booster gizmo last year because I had to use it like 5 times the past 2 days. 🙌🏻 Also thankful that this has been the only issue I’ve experienced with my Honda, which I’ll have for 6 years next month.

Phoebe’s Endocrine follow up
She is now 4’9” and 85lbs 8.6 oz.
We stopped the growth hormone in February. She’s grown an inch since her last appointment in January 2019.
Labs looked good. ✅ Just a little Vitamin D deficiency. As long as she takes the vitamins, it won’t be an issue. Cholesterol levels were good, no indication of diabetes.

All is right again...
Phoebe is on the All Star competitive prep team this year, so she’s happy doing what she loves most, cheering.
Me and Mikey are back on track after my reckless posts a few months back.
Damian and his girls got back from Hawaii yesterday, after a 7 day trip. He brought a sea turtle picture back for Phoebe. 💕
He brought a waterfall pendant necklace back for me. Waterfalls are our thing since we saw a few in California. It is part of the Na Hoku Waterfall Collection. The 8 diamonds symbolize the 8 islands in Hawaii. He said they tried to show him an opal one that had different colors but he chose to stick with turquoise since it is closer to my birthstone. It is perfect. 🥰

Couple’s Getaway to Monterey!
Oh my gosh, such an amazing place. Damian asked me what I liked with vacations and I told him I’m a scenery gal. He suggested Monterey, CA. Me being the non traveler chose to trust his suggestion. After all, he’s been to all but 2 states.
He chose the hotel, booked the flights, reserved the car... I did nothing. And that was great because I am horrible at making decisions that affect others! 🤦♀️ We flew out on June 21st to San Francisco. Drove the coast down to Monterey. Our hotel, Trade Winds, was in Carmel. We were waking distance from a beach and a town of shops.
We visited a few state parks, we hiked to a waterfall, we saw the Golden Gate bridge and we ate some really good food. The weather was absolutely amazing. It was windy, but not too windy, the temperature didn't get above 61 degrees.
Oh and neither one of us brought our work laptops. :) We made no plans ahead of time. Which means we got to sleep in as long as we wanted to, but we were able to get in all of the recommended stops, including a beautiful beach sunset. It really was a great couples getaway.
